Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents of Singapore must purchase a valid Entry Levy to enter the Casino.

To assist individuals who are required to purchase the Casino Entry Levy, Marina Bay Sands would like to provide helpful information to ensure that you are prepared for your visit to the Casino.

Casino Entry Levy

Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents of Singapore must purchase a valid Entry Levy to enter the Casino.

To assist individuals who are required to purchase the Casino Entry Levy, Marina Bay Sands would like to provide helpful information to ensure that you are prepared for your visit to the Casino.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. You are not allowed to enter or remain within the Casino if:

  • you are under 21 years of age ("Minor");
  • you are subject to an Exclusion Order issued by the Singapore Authorities, excluded by law or if you are barred by Marina Bay Sands Pte Ltd ("Excluded Person");
  • MBS shall be entitled to reclaim all winnings paid to a Minor or an Excluded Person. All winnings payable to a Minor or an Excluded Person shall be forfeited by the Minor or Excluded Person.

Penalty: Any minor entering or remaining within the Casino shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $1,000.

2. Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents must enter and exit the Casino only via the lanes designated 'Singapore/PR'.

3. If you are not a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, you must enter and exit the Casino only via the lanes designated 'Foreigners'.

4. Non-residents must produce identification documents to show that they are not Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents of Singapore e.g., foreign passports with short term immigration passes or work passes with photos.

1. Entry Levy for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents

1.1 Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (“SCPRs”) are required to purchase a valid Entry Levy before entering the Casino:

(a) Daily Entry Levy: S$150
Activation: Earlier of (i) first entry into the Casino; or (ii) 6 hours after the time of purchase. Period of Use: 24 consecutive hours upon activation.

(b) Annual Entry Levy: S$3,000.
Activation: Earlier of (i) first entry into the Casino; or (ii) 6 hours after the time of purchase. Period of Use: 12 consecutive months ending after 11:59:59pm on the day prior to the anniversary of its activation.

(c) Pursuant to regulatory requirements, the commencement and expiry of the Period of Use of each Entry Levy will occur regardless of an individual’s physical entry to the Casino.

(d) Individuals with an existing Entry Levy cannot purchase an additional Entry Levy unless the remaining validity period of their existing Entry Levy is 6 hours or less. 

1.2 Entry Levies purchased are non-transferable and non-refundable in any circumstances, and such circumstances may include but shall not be limited to: (i) the closure of the Casino for reasons arising from Covid-19; (ii) the issuance of Exclusion Orders; (iii) the imposition of Visit Limits; and/or (iv) any other restrictions on entry imposed by Marina Bay Sands in its sole and absolute discretion.

1.3 It is an OFFENCE for any Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident to enter or remain in the Casino without purchasing a valid Entry Levy. If convicted of such an offence, an individual may be liable to pay a fine of up to S$1,000 and the amount of the applicable Entry Levy.

2. Entry and Exit Only Through Designated Lanes

2.1 SCPRs and individuals who are not Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents must enter and exit the Casino using lanes designated for “Singapore/PR” and “Foreigners” respectively.

3. Over-staying without valid Entry Levy

3.1 It is an OFFENCE under the Casino Control Act 2006 for individuals whose Entry Levy has expired to:

(a) remain in the Casino i.e., over-stay; and

(b) fail to pay the applicable Entry Levy/Levies for the over-stay period before leaving the Casino.

3.2 If convicted of such an offence, an individual may be liable to pay a fine of up to S$1,000 and the amount of the applicable Entry Levy/Levies due for the over-stay period.

3.3 Prior to exiting the Casino, it is an individual’s responsibility to check that his/her Entry Levy is valid at the kiosks located near the Casino exits.

3.4 Individuals whose Entry Levy has expired may proceed to the Casino Cashier or Entry Levy Kiosks located near the Casino exits to purchase the applicable Entry Levy/Levies due for the over-stay period before exiting the Casino.

4. Minors and Excluded Persons

4.1 It is an OFFENCE under the Casino Control Act 2006 for individuals who are:

(a) under 21 years of age (“Minors”); and/or

(b) subject to an Exclusion Order issued by the Singapore Authorities, excluded by law or barred by MBS (“Excluded Persons”); to enter or remain within the Casino.

4.2 If convicted of an offence referred to in paragraph 4.1(a) above, a Minor may be liable to pay a fine of up to S$1,000.

4.3 MBS shall be entitled to recover all winnings paid to Minors or Excluded Persons. All winnings payable to Minors or Excluded Persons shall be forfeited.

5. Game Rules

5.1 Information on game rules and house rules can be found in electronic kiosks located on the gaming floor.

5.2 All games are conducted in accordance with game rules and house rules. An individual’s participation in any game is deemed to be an acceptance of the applicable game rules and house rules.

6. Right to Declare Game Void and Recovery of Winnings

6.1 MBS will declare a game void if there is any malfunction or fault in, or interruption in the operation of, any part of any gaming machine or gaming equipment that affects the outcome of that game. MBS may declare a game void: (i) where there is a force majeure event that disrupts that game; (ii) where MBS knows or reasonably suspects that a patron is committing or has committed an offence under the Casino Control Act or any other written law in such a manner as may affect the outcome of that game; or (iii) in circumstances under which the game may be declared void under the approved game rules. If the game is declared void, MBS will: (i) notify every patron playing that game that the game has been declared void; and (ii) refund all wagers made on that game.

6.2 Where a game is declared void (except on the ground of a force majeure event), MBS shall be entitled to recover any winnings paid out to any patrons from that game. The recovery of such winnings shall be in accordance with such means as set out in the game rules and/or house rules applicable to such game.

INFORMATION ON CASINO ENTRY/EXIT

7.1 Patrons must, upon request, produce valid identification documents for verification checks of their age, identity and Entry Levy payment status.

7.2 Acceptable forms of identification documents include:

(a) National Registration Identification Cards (“NRIC”);

(b) Driving licences issued by the Singapore Traffic Police (“Singapore Driving Licences”);

(c) Singapore Armed Forces (“SAF”) identification cards;

(d) Singapore Civil Defence Force National Service (“SCDF NS”) identification cards;

(e) Singapore Police Force National Service (“SPF NS”) identification cards;

(f) Re-entry permits with passports issued to Singapore Permanent Residents;

(g) Passports issued by the Singapore Government; or

(h) NRIC collection slips issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (“ICA”), together with an original identification document issued by the Singapore Government which contains both a photo identification and date of birth

8.1 Patrons must, upon request, produce valid identification documents for verification checks of their age, identity and residency status.  

8.2 Acceptable forms of identification documents include:

(a) Foreign passport with any of the following:

(i)  Short-term immigration pass;

(ii) Long-term visit pass without photograph identification;

(iii) Student’s pass without photograph identification;

(iv) Notification of cancellation of student’s pass, visit pass and embarkation form issued by the ICA;

(v) Notification letter issued by the Ministry of Manpower allowing the person named in the letter to work and stay in Singapore until issuance of his/her work pass card; or

(vi) Immigration (Exemption) Order Stamp of the ICA (in the foreign passport).

(b) Long-term visit pass with photograph identification;

(c) Student’s pass with photograph identification;

(d) Work pass;

(e) Ministry of Foreign Affairs Identification Cards issued to Diplomats in Foreign Embassies and Professional Staff in International Organisations;

(f) Special pass with photograph identification issued by the Ministry of Manpower or the ICA; or 

(g) Dependent’s Pass issued by the Ministry of Manpower.

9.1 It is an OFFENCE under the Casino Control Act 2006 to remove casino chips or slot machine vouchers of an aggregate value of S$10,000 or more from the MBS integrated resort.

9.2 If convicted of such an offence, an individual may be liable to pay a fine of up to S$150,000 or sentenced to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years or both.

CASINO ENTRY LEVY FAQS

Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident is a citizen of Singapore or a Permanent Resident granted that status by the Singapore government. If you are in the country temporarily as a visitor or here on an employment pass, you are considered a “Non-resident” and are not required to pay the Entry Levy.

Non-resident is any person age 21 years or older who is not a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident seeking to gain entry into the Casino. A Non-resident is required to present Proper Identification prior to entering the Casino. A Non-resident is not required to pay the Entry Levy (those carrying work passes that do not feature a photograph, must also present their foreign passport).

Patrons must upon request produce valid identification documents for verification checks of their age, identity and Entry Levy payment status (if applicable).

For Singaporeans and Permanent Residents:

(a) National Registration Identification Cards ('NRIC');

(b) Driving licences issued by the Singapore Traffic Police ('Singapore Driving Licences');

(c) Singapore Armed Forces ('SAF') identification cards;

(d) Singapore Civil Defence Force National Service ('SCDF NS') identification cards;

An Entry Levy is the payment a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident must make in order to gain access to the Casino. All other areas of the resort are open to all and do not require an Entry Levy.

Outside the Casino: 

Entry Levies may be purchased at Entry Levy cashier counters and Entry Levy Kiosks which are located at all entrances to the casino on B2M, Level 1 and Level 2 of MBS.

 

Inside the Casino: 

Entry Levies may be purchased at Cage cashier counters and Entry Levy Kiosks located within the casino.

 

Mode of payment: 

Entry Levy payments can be made by cash, NETS, or debit/ credit cards accepted by MBS.

Please note that all Entry Levies purchased are:

(a) non-transferable; and

(b) non-refundable, in any circumstances, including closure of casinos related to Covid-19, or where entry to the Casino is prohibited to due issuance of Exclusion Orders, imposition of Visit Limits and/or any restrictions on entry imposed by Marina Bay Sands Pte Ltd.

No. However, if not activated earlier upon entry to the Casino, the daily and annual Entry Levy will be activated 6 hours after the time of purchase.
