1. Marina Bay Sands Pte Ltd’s (‘Marina Bay Sands’) Paiza Membership Programme and Sands Rewards Club Membership Programme (the ‘Programmes’) are governed by the Terms and Conditions set out herein (‘Terms and Conditions’).
2. The submission of an application for membership to the Programmes is deemed to be an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Membership and Members’ entitlement to membership benefits and privileges of the Programmes, including but not limited to the redemption of any benefits and privileges, is governed by these Terms and Conditions.
3. Individuals who are (i) not employed by Marina Bay Sands; (ii) aged 21 and above; and (iii) not the subject of any exclusion order issued by the National Council on Problem Gambling of Singapore at the time of application, are eligible to apply for membership in the Sands Rewards Club Membership Programme. Notwithstanding the foregoing, membership to the Paiza Membership Programme shall be granted at the discretion of Marina Bay Sands only.
4. Valid government-issued photo identification document (e.g. Singapore NRIC or passport) must be presented at the time of submission of the application for membership. For verification purposes, applicants must produce such photo identification(s) or other identification documents as Marina Bay Sands may, in its absolute discretion, require.
5. Approval of application for membership and grant of the said membership shall be at the sole and absolute discretion of Marina Bay Sands.
6. Upon the approval of an application by Marina Bay Sands, Members will each be issued with a membership number and a membership card with the Member’s photo (hereinafter, the ‘Photo Membership Card’). Members must be photographed by Marina Bay Sands for identity verification purposes and processing of the Photo Membership Card. Membership is only valid upon issuance of a Photo Membership Card. Marina Bay Sands may, at its sole discretion, withhold benefits and privileges from Members who have not been issued with a Photo Membership Card. Photo Membership Cards are non-transferable and may only be used by the Members to whom such cards were issued.
7. Members may also download an electronic membership card (“Electronic Card”) onto their electronic devices, which can be used interchangeably with their Photo Membership Card in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Programme.
8. Photo Membership Cards and Electronic Cards are non-transferable and may only be used by the members to whom such cards were issued.
9. Upon grant of membership, each Member will also be assigned to a specific membership tier in the applicable Programme (‘Membership Card Tier’) by Marina Bay Sands. Membership in the Programmes is non-transferable and non-assignable. Marina Bay Sands may at any time without prior notice, review and amend its Membership Card Tiers of the Programmes and/or the criteria for eligibility to the Membership Card Tiers, or reassign a Member to any other Membership Card Tier as Marina Bay Sands may, in its sole discretion, decide.
10. Members may accrue Sands Points and Sands Dollars for their membership accounts by gaming at the Marina Bay Sands casino (‘Casino’).
11. The rate of accrual of Sands Points and Sands Dollars may vary from member to member. The rate of accrual of Sands Points and Sands Dollars shall be determined at the sole and absolute discretion of Marina Bay Sands. Restrictions may apply.
12. The Accrual of Sands Points and Sands Dollars shall be subject to the following:
(i) Members must present their Photo Membership Cards or Electronic Cards together with valid government-issued photo identification document prior to undertaking the transaction. Sands Points and Sands Dollars will not be retroactively credited after completion of any transaction in the event that the Member had failed to present his/her Photo Membership Card or Electronic Card prior to conducting the said transaction.
(ii) Sands Points and Sands Dollars accrued in respect of a transaction will be credited to a Member’s account within 48 hours of the transaction. In the event of technical issues, Members’ account balances will be updated when the system is available.
(iii) Sands Points and Sands Dollars accrued will expire after 12 months from the date of accrual if not used or redeemed. Expiry will be on a first-in-first-out basis.
(iv) Members who are also members of the Sands LifeStyle Programme may accumulate Resort Dollars (being the rewards currency used in the Sands LifeStyle Programme) and Sands Dollars (collectively referred to as ‘Reward Dollars’) in their membership account up to a maximum balance of $100,000 Reward Dollars in aggregate (“Earning Limit”) at any given point in time or other such values as MBS may determine. The accumulation of Reward Dollars will thereafter cease and will resume only when the total balance falls below the Earning Limit.
13. Sands Points and Sands Dollars are non-transferable. Sands Points and Sands Dollars accrued using a Member’s Photo Membership Card or Electronic Card by person(s) other than the member named on that Photo Membership Card or Electronic Card shall be forfeited.
14. Marina Bay Sands shall not be liable for the inaccurate accrual of Sands Points and Sands Dollars as a result of technical malfunction, operator fault, member misconduct or any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Marina Bay Sands.
15. Each transaction for the accrual and/or redemption of benefits and privileges may only be attributed to one membership account. Combining 2 or more membership accounts for the purpose of accrual and/or redemption of benefits and privileges is prohibited.
16. Qualification for attaining the next higher Membership Card Tier will be based on eligibility criteria as determined by MBS, including points accrued through a Member's gaming activity (“Tier Points”) consisting of, amongst others, the total Sands Points accumulated by Members in their accounts for the period preceding such qualification (“Tier Qualifying Period”). The duration of the Tier Qualifying Period is 12 months or other such periods of time as MBS may determine.
17. Maintenance of a Member’s Membership Card Tier will be based on such eligibility criteria as determined by MBS, including the Reserve Points, if any and where applicable, and the total Tier Points accumulated by the Member in his account, for the period preceding such maintenance (“Qualifying Tier Maintenance Period”). The duration of the Qualifying Tier Maintenance Period is 12 months or other such periods of time as MBS may determine. Where a Member fails to satisfy such eligibility criteria, a Member’s Membership Card Tier will be adjusted to the preceding Membership Card Tier .
18. Reserve Points are points that the member has, being (i) the amount of Tier Points the member has earned during the Qualifying Tier Maintenance Period; and (ii) the amount of Reserve Points the member had accumulated in his account, if any, at the time of maintenance, where such points are (a) in excess of the Tier Points required to achieve his incumbent membership tier, i.e., the amount of Tier Points a member is required to earn in order to be upgraded to the said tier; but (b) in deficit of the Tier Points required to achieve the next higher membership tier.
19. Any Member who is of Paiza Gold tier and above is eligible to accrue Reserve Points. The amount of Reserve Points that such member may accrue upon maintenance of membership tier is the aggregate of the amount of Reserve Points and Tier Points accumulated in the member’s account at the time of such tier maintenance, less the amount of Tier Points required to achieve the member’s incumbent membership tier.
20. Reserve Points can be accrued up to a maximum amount of 50% of the Tier Points required to achieve his incumbent membership tier and are valid for use 24 months from the date of accrual, subject to no change in the Member’s membership tier. Reserve Points accrued will reset to zero upon any changes to a Member's membership tier, including in the event of any upgrade or downgrade of Member’s membership tier.
21. Reserve Points can only be utilized towards meeting the Tier Points required for maintenance of a member’s incumbent membership tier for the following year. To utilize Reserve Points, a member must be of Paiza Gold tier and above; and of valid Premium Player status (as defined in section 2 of the Casino Control Act 2006 and regulation 2A of the Casino Control (Credit) Regulations 2010) as at the end of Qualifying Tier Maintenance Period.
22. Reserve Points will be utilized with priority over, and in place of the corresponding number of Tier Points required for tier maintenance, and would be deducted from the Member’s account on a first-in-first-out basis. Where there are insufficient Reserve Points in the Member’s account for utilization towards maintenance of membership tier, the balance Tier Points required will be deducted from the Tier Points earned by the Member during the Qualifying Tier Maintenance Period.
23. Members shall be eligible for such benefits and privileges allocated to each particular Membership Card Tier. Members must present their Photo Membership Cards or Electronic Cards together with valid government-issued photo identification document to be eligible for their Membership Card Tier benefits and privileges. Where required, each Member shall also provide his/her Personal Identification Number (PIN).
24. Members shall be entitled to redeem their Sands Dollars for purchase of goods and services at any eligible outlets, for table promotional chips or slot credits (which may also be referred to as “Bonus Slot Play”) to be used in the Casino (“Free Play”), and/or towards the payment for hotel rooms/suites or other external goods and services (including ticket entry to entertainment performances and events) as determined by Marina Bay Sands. The redemption of Sands Dollars outside of the preceding shall be at MBS’ sole discretion and subject to such further terms and conditions as MBS may determine. Redemption of Sands Dollars is subject to the following:
(i) Members must redeem their Sands Dollars in person. Members will be required to present their Photo Membership Cards or Electronic Cards together with valid government-issued photo identification document prior to undertaking the redemption.
(ii) Sands Dollars have no cash value and are not exchangeable for cash.
(iii) Marina Bay Sands reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to charge an administration fee (the mode of payment and quantum of which shall be determined by Marina Bay Sands) for redemptions of Sands Dollars and/or to amend the quantum of such administration fees at any time.
(iv) Redemptions of Sands Dollars are final. There will be no refund of Sands Dollars once a transaction is completed.
(v) All redemptions of Sands Dollars are subject to further terms and conditions as determined by Marina Bay Sands from time to time.
(vi) Members of the Sands Rewards Club Membership Programme may redeem their Sands Dollars for a maximum of 3 hotel rooms/suites per night under the same Member’s name. Redemption of Sands Dollars for hotel rooms/suites by Paiza members shall be governed by the terms and conditions as determined by Marina Bay Sands from time to time.
(vii) Purchases involving any redemption of Sands Dollars (inclusive of split payments) at Sands Rewards Participating Outlets, which also participate in the electronic Tourist Refund Scheme (eTRS), may be eligible for GST refund, subject to fulfilment of certain criteria imposed by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.
25. In respect of (i) the accrual of Sands Points and Sands Dollars; and (ii) the redemption of Sands Dollars, exclusions may apply for transactions including but not limited to the following:
(i) The purchase of goods that are classified as tobacco products, top-up cards, gift cards, gift certificates and/or shopping vouchers.
(ii) The purchase of goods or services using top-up cards, gift cards, gift certificates and/or shopping vouchers.
(iii) The purchase of goods or services at Sands Expo® and Convention Centre.
(iv) The purchase of pure gold or platinum items.
26. Sands Points and Sands Dollars shall not be accrued for hotel bookings made via third party booking agencies or websites, and hotel bookings made at such discounted rates and/or utilizing any discounts and vouchers as MBS may determine in its sole discretion.
27. The redemption of Sands Dollars, eligibility for Membership Card Tiers and Membership Card Tier benefits and privileges shall be at the sole and absolute discretion of Marina Bay Sands. Restrictions may apply.
28. Marina Bay Sands will issue Sands Bonus Dollars to Members through promotions or otherwise at its discretion. The quantum or rate of Sands Bonus Dollars issued to any Member shall be determined by Marina Bay Sands at its sole and absolute discretion.
29. Members may redeem their Sands Bonus Dollars for Free Play, Marina Bay Sands hotel vouchers, towards purchases of goods at eligible food and beverage outlets located within the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort as determined by Marina Bay Sands from time to time, and/or other external goods and services (including ticket entry to entertainment performances and events) as approved by Marina Bay Sands. Redemption of Sands Bonus Dollars outside of the preceding circumstances shall be at MBS’ sole discretion and subject to further terms and conditions as may be determined by Marina Bay Sands.
30. The validity period of Sands Bonus Dollars shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the promotion pursuant to which the Sands Bonus Dollars were issued. In the event that the promotion does not indicate the validity period of the Sands Bonus Dollars issued, the Sands Bonus Dollars will expire on a first-in first-out basis after 12 months if they are not used or redeemed.
31. The conditions set out in Clauses 13, 14, 24(i) to 24(vii), and 27 shall also apply in relation to Sands Bonus Dollars.
32. Members shall not participate in any conduct, whether by themselves or with other person(s) (hereinafter an ‘Associate(s)’), which appears to
(i) alter the elements of chance, method of selection or criteria which determine (a) the result of a game; (b) the amount or frequency of payment in a game; (c) the value of a wagering instrument; or (d) the value of a wagering credit;
(ii) reduce or attempt to reduce the odds of losing one or more wagers, or
(iii) avoid or attempt to avoid the repayment of any amount loaned by Marina Bay Sands including, but not limited to, any form of off-set betting, e.g. one person makes a ‘banker’ bet and another a ‘player’ bet, (‘Offensive Conduct’).
If Marina Bay Sands, acting by any employee of the casino in a supervisory position, forms the view, in his/her sole discretion, that a member has participated in any Offensive Conduct (hereinafter, a ‘Marina Bay Sands Determination’), Marina Bay Sands may refuse to cash out the member’s casino chips, and shall be entitled to apply any casino chips to any outstanding credit balance of the member or any Associate(s). Members shall indemnify and hold Marina Bay Sands harmless against all liabilities, costs and expenses in relation to any claims or demands made against Marina Bay Sands by any third party, including any Associate(s), arising from or related to any Marina Bay Sands Determination.
33. Members shall be responsible for updating Marina Bay Sands immediately of any change in personal details. Members shall consent to the use of the personal details provided to Marina Bay Sands for such purposes as Marina Bay Sands deems reasonably necessary to the administration and management of memberships and the Programmes.
34. Members shall be responsible for the safekeeping of their Photo Membership Cards, Electronic Cards and non-disclosure of their Personal Identification Number (PIN) to any other person(s).
35. Marina Bay Sands will replace lost or stolen Photo Membership Cards up to a maximum of 2 times without charge. Subject to these Terms and Conditions, an administrative fee of $10 will be levied for the issue of the third replacement card onwards. The Photo Membership Card is the property of Marina Bay Sands and must be returned unconditionally and immediately upon demand.
(i) If the Photo Membership Card is lost or stolen, member must report this loss immediately to temporarily deactivate the account in person or by phone to Casino Reservations (6688 9999). A replacement card will be issued to the member upon presentation of valid government-issued photo identification document. Marina Bay Sands is not responsible and will not be held liable for any transactions made while the card is lost or stolen. The decision of Marina Bay Sands management is absolute and final in the event of any dispute.
(ii) Enquiries concerning a member’s account must be undertaken by the member personally.
36. Marina Bay Sands reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to terminate a membership (with all Sands Points, Sands Dollars and Sands Bonus Dollars forfeited) without prior notice, including where a member:
(i) Replaces his/her Photo Membership Card more than 6 times within a consecutive period of 6 months;
(ii) Is subject to an Exclusion Order issued by the National Council on Problem Gambling of Singapore or is excluded by Marina Bay Sands from any part of the Marina Bay Sands premises;
(iii) Accrues or redeems or otherwise uses the membership benefits and privileges in a manner as Marina Bay Sands, in its sole and absolute discretion, determines to be improper;
(iv) Breaches any of these Terms and Conditions.
37. Marina Bay Sands reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to (i) make adjustments to any benefits provided to a member, including but not limited to Sands Dollars balances; (ii) pursue recovery of any benefits provided to a member where a member accrues or redeems or otherwise uses the membership benefits and privileges in a manner as Marina Bay Sands, in its sole and absolute discretion, determines to be improper and/or an abuse of or in contravention of these Terms and Conditions.
38. Marina Bay Sands shall not be liable for, and Members shall indemnify and hold Marina Bay Sands harmless against any and all claims, loss and damage, cost and expense in respect of, arising from and/or in relation to:
(i) Members’ failure to update personal information; and/or
(ii) Members’ loss of Photo Membership Card or Electronic Card and/or PIN; and/or
(iii) The administration and management of the Programmes and memberships by Marina Bay Sands including the inaccurate accrual and/or issuance of Sands Points, Sands Dollars and Sands Bonus Dollars, entry to Membership Card Tiers and the redemption of membership benefits and privileges.
39. In the event of dispute, the decision(s) of Marina Bay Sands shall be final and conclusive, with the exception of, where applicable; the decision(s) of the Gambling Regulatory Authority, which shall prevail and supersede any decision(s) of Marina Bay Sands.
40. The provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
