Climate Response
While Marina Bay Sands saw a 7% increase in its carbon footprint in 2024, the resort has reduced its overall carbon emissions by 19% since 2015. This is aligned with its revised carbon emissions target to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 30% by 2025, adhering to the new 1.5°C pathway.
Water Stewardship
A cornerstone of Marina Bay Sands’ water management strategy lies in uncovering opportunities to recycle and reuse existing water sources. In 2024, the integrated resort extended its condensate recovery programme, repurposing close to 7 million litres of water collected from air-conditioning units in the Casino.
Recycling & Circularity
2024 marked a pivotal year for Marina Bay Sands as the integrated resort embarked on a series of trailblazing food waste pilots. This includes the transformation of food waste into fish feed for an aquaponic farm and black soldier fly facility, where the frass will be used as fertilizer for agriculture.
Sustainable Food
Marina Bay Sands focuses on local and regional sourcing while supporting suppliers that engage in responsible farming practices. In 2024, the integrated resort procured 52% of its seafood from responsible sources while RISE restaurant achieved the highest-tier of the Farm-to-Table Recognition Programme.
Biodiversity
In 2024, Marina Bay Sands reaffirmed its dedication to biodiversity as it continued a three-year partnership with WWF Singapore to evaluate deforestation risks associated with key agri-commodity products in its procurement portfolio.
Certifications
Marina Bay Sands continued to achieve global recognition for its sustainability efforts in 2024. The integrated resort achieved the ISO14001 certification for the full property for the first time, and ArtScience Museum became the first museum in Asia Pacific to achieve the LEED® Platinum Certification.
Corporate Culture
The Sands ECO360 global sustainability programme serves as an integrated framework guiding Marina Bay Sands’ sustainability initiatives. This is reinforced by a robust collection of policies, codes and procedures.
Supply Chain Management
Marina Bay Sands upholds its ethical standards and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) requirements with its business partners and value chain. All suppliers must meet the standards outlined in the Supplier Code of Conduct, which includes expectations for ESG topics, including Human Rights, Environment and Ethics and Compliance.

Hardship Relief
The 10th edition of the annual Sands for Singapore Charity Festival saw close to S$4.6 million raised for local charities, through 10 weeks of community engagement activities and innovative fundraising efforts.

Cultural & Natural Heritage
In 2024, Marina Bay Sands donated S$500,000 to the National Arts Council’s Sustain the Arts (stART) Fund, marking the establishment of the Sands Innovative Arts Fund, which boosts small arts groups’ efforts and gives a head start towards long-term sustainability.
Disaster Response & Preparedness
Marina Bay Sands works closely with partners like Clean the World and The Food Bank Singapore to provide hardship relief and alleviate food insecurity within our communities. Since 2014, 1 million hygiene kits have been assembled by Sands’ Team Members across Las Vegas, Macao and Singapore as part of the annual Sands Cares Global Hygiene Kit Build.
