Transforming Marina Bay Sands into a canvas for the arts

Marina Bay Sands enters a three-year partnership with the National Arts Council to elevate arts experiences for visitors

Event organisers and delegates may soon find themselves watching art performances at business events, as well as humming along to the familiar tunes of local musicians as their songs are piped through Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

Marina Bay Sands and National Arts Council (NAC) signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding in September 2023. The partnership will see both organisations collaborating to turn Marina Bay Sands into a canvas for the arts.

Celebrating the arts is not new to Marina Bay Sands. Since opening in 2010, the integrated resort has been home to 11 large-scale public art installations, known as the Art Path programme. Local and international visitors can deepen their appreciation for the arts by taking a self-guided Art Path tour. The integrated resort’s (IR) cultural offering - ArtScience Museum - is also home to world-renowned exhibitions, which are refreshed regularly to offer guests new experiences with each visit.

Moving forward, Sands Expo will be the home base for arts thought leadership, as more arts-related business events are brought to Singapore and arts performances are integrated into the opening acts of events. Arts programming will be scaled up throughout the rest of the property, including at ArtScience Museum and Sands Theatre. There will also be a deeper focus on arts advocacy and outreach efforts, as Marina Bay Sands and NAC embark on cross-marketing and content production initiatives, such as those facilitated by NAC’s digital platform, Catch.
