Celebrity chef, Tetsuya Wakuda

Chef Tetsuya Wakuda grew up in Hamamatsu, Japan, near Mount Fuji. His love for food was evident from his earliest years, with memories of time spent fishing in the prefecture’s beautiful lakes. The experience proved to be revelatory as Wakuda learned classical French techniques that would later become the trademark of his approach to cooking.

By 1989, he opened his own restaurant, Tetsuya’s, which quickly became one of the most popular restaurants in Sydney and has been consistently included in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Since 2010, Tetsuya has embarked upon exciting culinary ventures with the opening of Waku Ghin and Wakuda at Marina Bay Sands.
