This holiday season, ArtScience Cinema presents new, award-winning features by fresh voices in the animation world. Capturing the magic and joy in hand-drawn animation, these stories feel equal parts nostalgic and original - from fantastical tales told through vivid, painterly motion to rich, imaginative worlds that feel familiar yet strange.

Setting a new benchmark in Pakistani animation, Usman Riaz's enchanting tale The Glassworker presents a timeless love story that is tested through time and conflict. In Benoît Chieux's psychedelic adventure Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds, two sisters are transformed into cats are discovering a magical book.

Making its Southeast Asia premiere, The Glassworker is a touching love story of an artisan glassmaker named Vincent and violinist, Aliliz that spans across time in a war-torn divided country, where their love is challenged by their fathers’ differing views.

The film has drawn international recognition for being Pakistan's first-ever hand-drawn animation film and has been shortlisted for International Feature Film nomination at the 2025 Oscars.

Premiering in Singapore for the first time, Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds is an enchanting film which tells the tale of Juliette and her sister Carmen as they are transformed into cats after discovering a magical book and transported to the Kingdom of Winds. Their arrival in this magical realm creates upheaval when Juliette causes an accident that upsets the Kingdom’s locals.

Praised for its psychedelic visual style and plot, Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds is a delightful film that will appeal to both the young and old.
