ArtScience on Screen: Micro-Commissions
During the unprecedented Circuit Breaker of 2020 when cinemas and museums were shut, the ArtScience Museum commissioned four established local filmmakers to create for the smallest of screens, and for the strangest of times. Covering a varied response of hope, resilience and a challenge to ponder a greater existence outside our immediate bubbles, these films are now symbolic of how the moving image has endured the unimaginable to make it to the big screen at the museum – you cannot miss it.

As part of its ongoing support for local arts ecology, ArtScience Museum is proud to present a series of newly-commissioned films for the smallest screens, from some of Singapore’s most prominent artists and filmmakers. Catch new unique and exciting short films as we release them across the museum’s online platforms throughout the year, and celebrate the breadth and creativity of Singapore-based filmmakers.

Virtual Tour: Margins
During circuit breaker, our homes and our world started to blend with borders becoming closer and higher than ever, but how has that affected the way we view or relate to the concept of a home? Reflecting on the Singaporean national character, Margins turns the lens inward toward issues which are close to home but rarely close to the spotlight. Through the works of 15 Singaporean photographers, home is presented not as a set of walls but as a fluctuating concept changing from close to far, universal to personal and abstract to figurative.
Join Senior Museum Ambassador, Eileen, to learn about the overlooked margins between our external and internal selves, the fluidity and variety of a home and how real and imagined boundaries affect those on the other side of them.

ArtScience Late at Home with Fauxe
Artist and musician Fauxe channels the expressionistic energies of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari in this special horror edition of ArtScience Late at Home. The performance will be available online on 15 October, 10am. Don't miss the livestream Q&A with Fauxe who will openly discuss his unholy practices and approach to this presentation at 9pm on the same day.
