Join us on our first virtual Insights Tour featuring Charleen Leo from ArtScience Museum’s Exhibition team. She will bring us on an immersive walkthrough of one of our favourite exhibitions, Wind Walkers: Theo Jansen’s Strandbeests. Presented in 2018, this exhibition celebrates the lifework of Dutch Sculptor, Theo Jansen. His world famous moving sculptures – Strandbeests, which he describes as “a new form of life”, are a true embodiment of art, science, engineering and performance.
In this episode, come walk with the beests as Charleen gives some insights into how Jansen has dedicated the past three decades of his life to designing and building the Strandbeests and fostering the evolution of his dreams. She will also be sharing some personal thoughts and the ideation process behind the curatorial and design direction of the exhibition at ArtScience Museum.

You’re Safe Till 2024: Deep History, a performance project by writer-performer David Finnigan, is a deep time story about the massive changes taking place on our planet, placed against the story of an Australian family during the 2020 summer bushfires. The performance will be livestreamed on 17 September, 9pm in tandem with a Q&A session.
