We Live in an Ocean of Air is a multi-sensory immersive installation by London-based immersive art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast. The work unveils the invisible yet symbiotic connections that bind the animal, plant, human and natural worlds into one enchanting tapestry of wonder – all in stunning virtual reality.

Blurring the boundaries of installation, live performance and virtual reality, this work celebrates humanity’s relationship with the hallowed ground beneath its feet – but crucially, it provides a pertinent platform to view the challenges our planet faces in the twenty-first century and to reflect on our responsibility to the organisms we share it with.

From the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe, our dependence on the natural world is absolute. For the protection and regeneration of ecosystems that are fundamental to our collective futures, Marshmallow Laser Feast confront these issues head-on through a magical and moving experience – come dive into it!

About Marshmallow Laser Feast

We Live in an Ocean of Air was made by London-based immersive art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast in collaboration with artist Mileece I’Anson and sound-vision artist Natan Sinigaglia.

Marshmallow Laser Feast (MLF) creates immersive experiences, expanding perception and exploring our connection with the natural world. Fusing architectural tools, contemporary imaging techniques, and performance with tactile forms, MLF sculpt spaces that lay dormant until animated by curiosity and exploration. Informed as much by playfulness as research, MLF breaks the boundaries to worlds beyond our senses.
