The inspiration behind Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill series, They Call Her... Cleopatra Wong stars Singaporean actress Marrie Lee as "Singapore's first and only top Interpol agent". Expect explosive bike chases and machine-gun carrying nuns in this 70's cult hit that became a global sensation.
Doris Young (stage name Marrie Lee) performed her own stunts as Cleopatra Wong, a femme fatale agent who teams up with her Filipino counterpart to bust a counterfeit currency operation. Their dangerous mission takes them from Singapore to Hong Kong and finally Manila. Directed by Filipino cult filmmaker Bobby A. Suarez who rode the era’s wave of popular superspy flicks, the multinational production became a hit in North America, Europe and the Middle East when it was first released. Marrie Lee went on to star as Cleopatra Wong in two sequels.
